New Year’s Concert 2026 at the Circo Massimo

The symbolic event of the Roman New Year’s eve is the so-called “Concertone di Capodanno”, a big free concert in the extraordinary setting of the Circo Massimo. This year it will feature three of Italy’s most beloved italian singers of the moment: Alessandra Amoroso, Fabri Fibra, and Tananai, representatives of three different musical worlds, pop, rap and singer song-writer traditions.

The concert, now in its fourth edition, is completely free. It starts at 9 pm on 31 December and is followed by a DJ set that will entertain the audience until after midnight, continuing the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The recommendation is to arrive very early to secure a good spot. To enter, you must pass through security checks; dangerous objects and glass are not allowed.
At midnight, there will be fireworks lighting up the backdrop of the Palatine Hill.

Where can I watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Rome?

The most breathtaking view of Rome is from the Janiculum Hill. From here, you can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of St. Peter’s Basilica and the historic center with countless fireworks exploding throughout the city during New Year’s Eve in Rome. Despite the strenuous climb to reach the Janiculum Hill, it’s really worth it!

Another viewpoint offering a wonderful view of the city from a different point of the city is the Terrazza del Pincio near Piazza del Popolo.
